SNAP ONLINE Eligible CSA/Produce Subscriptions Now Available in Lompoc

Lompoc, California: Dare 2 Dream Farms today announced the launch of a new e-commerce platform that can now accept SNAP Online for customers using EBT/SNAP benefits. Their store launch in the GrownBy app offers a new way for SNAP/EBT customers to purchase locally grown produce and other fresh, local farm-grown foods for pick up or delivery without making their purchase in person.

First to offer SNAP Online

“We are the first community-supported agriculture or direct-to-consumer farm in Santa Barbara County to implement SNAP Online payments, allowing SNAP participants to connect with their local farmers outside of a traditional farmer’s market or brick-and-mortar store, thanks to the Marketlink grant awarded to us in 2023,” says Megan Raff, Owner of Dare 2 Dream Farms. “We’re eager to watch how our farm’s relationship blossoms with SNAP participants, now that they can access locally grown produce online for delivery or convenient local pick up regularly.”

In their press release, Karina Johnson, Public Affairs Specialist for Food and Nutrition Services, said, “The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides nutrition assistance to about 42 million Americans in need each month. USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) ensures that benefits are as convenient and easy to use as possible, however, historically there have been challenges when it comes to connecting participants with local farmers. Fortunately, modern technologies and innovative solutions have emerged to bridge this gap. By embracing online purchasing and mobile payment systems, FNS is creating a more efficient, inclusive, and mutually beneficial relationship between SNAP participants and farmers.”
